Financial and Operational Assessments

A proactive assessment includes a survey of the finance and operations functions and encompasses a full range of activities, including:

• Assess the current organizational structure and tasks associated with the Business Office and recommend potential enhancements and changes moving forward. This will include a review of existing job descriptions looking for gaps between needs and competencies. We will also review existing written policies and procedures for the Business Office, including Human Resources, and make recommendations for additions or changes.

• Provide guidance related to independent school best practices for operating school financial affairs as well as options for reporting relevant performance metrics to the Board of Trustees. This would include examples of reports.

• Meet with key members of the Business Office team and other select school leadership to discuss independent school financial best practices including Board reports.
